Somewhere in the Bicol Region, lies a paradise, with it’s pristine beaches, fine white sands, crystal clear water, amazing limestone formations, secret lagoons, it’s really a must-see place and that’s Caramoan!
Caramoan is now widely known because of the reality show Survivor.
From Camarines Sur Watersports Complex, it’s a 1 1/2-hour ride going to Sabang port. So we woke up at around 3am to catch the boat’s first trip which is at 5:30am. We rented a van that costs php 1500. At 4am we leave CWC. Oh well, misfortune really do happens for it’s really raining hard that time 😦 We kept praying for the sun to shine!
We arrived Sabang port at 5:30am. The boat left at around 6am. It’s another 2-hour ride gong to Caramoan or Guijalo Port. The boat fare costs Php 120. They say we could see Mt. Mayon but its’s too cloudy so we haven’t had the chance to take a look at the perfect cone.
We availed the Rex Tourist Inn‘s package. Since we were four in our group, we paid 3,300 per person for a 3-day 2-night stay and it includes free pick-up from Guijalo Port. From the port, it’s another 30-minute ride going to Rex Tourist Inn’s Caramoan Garden.
Upon arriving at Rex, we had our breakfast, then at 10am we leave for island hopping. Nothing can stop us even though it’s raining. haha.
From Rex, it’s just a 5-minute tricycle ride going to Bikal Port.
I always love riding a boat. I get to enjoy the feel of the wind on my face, the green islands with different rock formations, the sparkling water. I love it whenever the water would splash to our faces. 🙂
At the time that we were there the waves are kinda big and it scared the hell out of me. I was imagining that our boat will capsize. haha. There are some islands that we haven’t visited because of the waves.
First Island: Matukad
Of all the islands in Caramoan, Matukad and Manlawi are my favorites!
There’s a mysterious lagoon at Matukad, where a lone magical bangus (milkfish) resides but you have to climb a steep limestone cliff to see the lagoon.
Perfect for beach bums!
Lunch time!! Since we availed the package. They are the ones who prepared our food. So no worries!
Second Island: Cagbanilad
I so love the rock formation! One of the best feeling being on top of the rock while I’m enjoying the raindrops. 🙂
Third Island: Minalahos
We didn’t stay long on the third island. We preferred to be back at Rex so we could swim on their pool. 🙂
Then it’s dinner time!! Happy tummy 😉
That’s our first day at Caramoan. Will have another post for our second and third day 🙂
